Soon, submissions will open for you to pitch your great ideas for SI Camp Sydney. Wanted are ideas which have the power to enact social innovation in one of the three key areas of:
- Skills and Employment
- Independent and healthy ageing
- Making our cities more liveable and sustainable
Because of Headshift involvement in Social Innovation Camp in the UK (Lee Bryant was a judge and Headshift helped with the development of a few of the winning solutions), I’ve been chatting on and off to Government 2.0 Taskforce member and Australian Social Innovation Exchange chair, Martin Stewart-Weeks, about bringing SI Camp to Australia. It looks like things are starting to happen. Personally I think this is an exciting development and a chance for the Taskforce to really demonstrate it is a positive force for innovation, rather than just talking and report writing. It will also hopefully demonstrate the importance of this kind of seed funding for social entrepreneurs, which is in desperate short supply in Australia.
